Mexico’s ambassador visits Madrid Content City

On February 18, Mexico’s Ambassador Quirino Ordaz visited the facilities of Madrid Content City, the largest production hub in Spain and the European Union. During his tour, Mr. Ordaz was accompanied by Raúl Berdonés, president of Madrid Content City and Secuoya Content Group, who gave him a detailed overview of the project and the resources and capabilities of the complex, a key driver in the global audiovisual industry, and the international expansion strategy of the World Content City initiative.

Raúl Berdonés highlighted the importance of this type of visit to strengthen ties between the cultural and audiovisual sectors of both countries: “Collaboration between Mexico and Spain is more relevant than ever, and Madrid Content City, with its unique audiovisual ecosystem and cutting-edge technology, is in a privileged position to lead this process of innovation and international cooperation. The audiovisual industry is undergoing an unprecedented transformation, and centers like MCC play a key role in its evolution”.

Ambassador Ordaz said, “Mexico and Spain share a vibrant cultural history and a common vision for the future of the audiovisual industry. Madrid Content City represents a platform for innovation and collaboration where talent from both nations can converge to tell stories that transcend borders. Strengthening these ties will allow us to further boost the creativity and growth of our film and television industries.”

Recognized audiovisual powerhouses

Throughout the visit, the Mexican ambassador visited the facilities and was able to share a conversation about the current state of the audiovisual industry in Spain and Mexico, both recognized global audiovisual powers. During the meeting, the main challenges facing the industry in these times of digital transformation were also analyzed. The conversation also highlighted the growing momentum of bilateral collaboration in film and television, exploring new opportunities to strengthen the relationship between the two nations in this constantly evolving industry.

Madrid Content City, which covers an area of 240,000 square meters, houses 23 recording studios, large production and post-production areas, technical offices, warehouses and parking areas, along with an innovative university campus, The Core School, promoted by Planeta Formación y Universidades.
